Apr8,2016 •#28 HI im having same issue i had dual monitors running fine on windows 10 then i installed new ssd and now my second monitor wont detect at all. Once i unchecked that, i went back into windows display properties and the option for the correct resolution was available. Essentially, the HDMI output to my second monitor connects to the motherboard of my PC. I figured I had to manually update something somewhere but I don't see an xorg.conf (and from what I've read, there isn't one) so I'm not sure how to manually set

I shutdown my laptop on Friday and power it backup on Monday, I did not use the laptop Also, when in the recommended resolution of 2048x768 I get the message "1:Analog Input Cannot Display This Video Mode. I copied most of the rows in the xorg.conf that you had put in the post you linked to. now, a few months later i suddenly had a problem with the laptop's original screen-it was stuck dim.
I checked if this worked for me but I noticed that my resolution changes when I turn ON my TV instead of turning it off. I right clicked on the driver. Solution. I have gone into Screen Resolution->Advanced and Windows 7 simply refuses to pick up the monitor. Increase Screen Resolution Past Max During boot up, both monitors show the bios, they even both show the windows loading swirl. I'm having the same problem. Crazy!

nvidia delayed drivers for that series. check it out If resolution is changed and changed back, then it restores same sizes and positions! I already tried system restore, and it didn't help either. news I have the proper Intel video driver installed and I know the monitor supports more - why can't I set a higher resolution and how do I fix it? Even though i have the HP driver installed for my monitor, the native resolution is 1920x1200 and it would only let me go to 1600x1200. I noticed that if you minimize windows before the display is powered off and do not restore them until the display has returned, then the windows are not rearranged. Previously i was able to duplicate the display from my laptop to the TV screen using a HDMI cable (both laptops could do it). both monitors were detected and operating just as they had been with Windows 8. build info incase that helps someone figure my issue easier i7 6700k MSI z170a MB EVGA GTX 970 FTW edition. This will display 1 + 2.
another problem at that resolution is that there is about a quarter of the screen not visible between the two monitors. I have my laptop plugged into my tv with a hdmi cable so I can watch tv on on a bigger screen with better sound. currently using vga for main monitor and second screen has dvi. I have an nVidia 760, and I removed and reinstalled the latest drivers, with a clean install (an option on the nVidia installer).

Everything was working fine then suddenly windows / nvidia didn't recognise my monitor as HP reset it back to Generic Non PNP and changed the resolution down which made it quite I have tried plugging the 2nd monitor into the other ports ( I am running duel GTX 570's) and nothing worked.
