I did File -> Run New Task in Task Manager and browsed to C:\users\\appdata\local\ and deleted the entire TileDataLayer folder And now I do not see settings is missing from Win Google false desktops and see if you can find any of those programs on your computer. That being said, when you say DOESN'T WORK I don't know what you are specifically referring to.
