I guess I just assumed that it had 1080 lines on it, because 1080 signal looks pretty good to me. For me it is resolved by attaching a 1080p Vaio laptop to a Bravia 1080p screen - its ALLLLLL native. Did you solve this? Fit to screen, or whatever it's called, did not sound like an overscan setting. A 4k TV has a ratio of 16:9 (3840x2160). This practice is called letterboxing.
